“There is a real power with documentaries where you can empower people to make better decisions.”
"For me, documentaries have the power to show stories as they are! They inform people about things they might not have ever seen before. With my first documentary ‘Under the Ice,' I had people come up to me and say, ‘I never knew about that.’ My New York Times piece on roller coasters was great to do as it was something people hadn't seen before. There is a real power with documentaries where you can empower people to make better decisions. You can help and benefit society, as I believe that documentarians and journalism are the checks and balances of The State these days."  Michael Sternoff

“One of my objectives is to make documentaries that look more like film. I want to do documentaries that have the same creative values of film and can reveal the story, as apposed to telling the story using talking heads. I never want my documentaries to be like a lecture, I want them to show the story like a good film does."

Limitless Dreams Films is an award winning documentary company owned by independent filmmaker and journalist, Michael Sternoff. Located in Seattle, Limitless Dreams exists to create documentaries that promote social change.

"As a television news reporter, my daily work is very fast paced and the stories are mostly passive. Once a news story is aired, it just disappears. Whereas doing documentaries gives me the opportunity to tell stories that can have a longer shelf-life. With my documentaries, I can have more control over the sort of stories we can tell."

"My main collaborators with my documentary films are Beth Bennett, who is an assistant professor at the Medill School of Journalism, and Scott Lamps, who is an awarding composer."

Michael Sternoff and Beth Bennett’s first documentary, captures life on frozen Lake Winnebago during the sturgeon spearing season. Shot in 2009, their debut documentary 'Under The Ice,' won two Emmy Awards and a National Press Photographers Award. Their second documentary collaboration, 'Kindred' tells the story of Kindra McLennan who died of cervical cancer at the age of thirty. This documentary also won an Emmy Award and Best documentary at the Illinois Film Festival. Their third documentary 'Spin' was a finalist in 2012, at the International Documentary Challenge.
