“We’re a little bit of Hollywood and a lot of South London”

Since those exciting (and scary) early days, Grain has grown into a genre-spanning production company, winning over 70 international awards, including a Peabody, as well as Oscar, BAFTA and Royal Television Society nominations.

Grain Media was started in 2006 by Jon Drever and Orlando von Einsiedel, two chaps from extreme sports backgrounds. They threw themsleves in to the deep end by winning a 14 part TV series in their mid twenties.

"Grain was set up by myself and my business partner Orlando von Einsiedel 10 years ago. We started in action sports. Now we make documentaries, factual entertainment, commercials, branded content, comedy and feature films. And everything in between. We’re also developing 10 feature films over the next 2 years."

"In 2015 we were the only British production company to get Oscar and BAFTA nominated for our feature doc VIRUNGA. We also released the UK’s first superhero romcom SUPERBOB. We are currently working with the likes of JJ Abrams, Michael Bay and Leonardo DiCaprio...and we work out of deepest South London, a part of the world most of the media establishment never tread. We’re a little bit of Hollywood and a lot of South London."

"We are surrounded by an excellent team who stop us from embarrassing ourselves too much. All I want is for us to be able to make all the stuff that is in our heads. I’d like a couple more TV series on the books and another dozen movies out on the Big Screen."
